I worked with Times-Call reporter Melanie Sidwell to create this interactive feature about the historic Ryssby Cemetery in Boulder County. Many of the more than 200 people buried in the cemetery were Swedish pioneers who settled in the area during the 1800s. The piece ran as an online component to a story about a new book detailing the lives of the early settlers buried in the cemetery.
Using photos and information from the Longmont Genealogical Society, the interactive graphic allows users to explore the cemetery’s burial plots, view gravestones, and read inscriptions.
I hand coded this piece using XHTML and CSS.
