Denver rock band Hot IQs was in need of a new website for its ever-increasing fan base. I wanted to create a site for them that would be functional and aesthetically pleasing, while also reflecting the witty, fun-loving spirit of the band.
Inspired by graph paper, Scrabble, and crossword puzzles, I surrounded the band’s name in a grid of vibrantly colored tiles. For the band’s logo, I selected Andale Mono for its strong geometric shapes and minimalist lines. The monospaced font also conforms to the site’s grid-based design concept.
The site includes a Flash mp3 player, a Wordpress news section, Picasa photo slideshows, videos, shows, press, contacts, and a store. I designed in XHTML and CSS using Dreamweaver and hand coding.
