Mezzotint printmaker David Clark needed a website so that exhibition organizers, gallery owners, and individuals interested in his art could view his pieces and make contact. My goal was to create a site that would showcase David’s art without overpowering it.
Because David rarely uses color in his work, I avoided using color in the site, and instead selected a palette of warm gray tones found in his mezzotints. The quiet presentation, understated typography and centered layout ensure the artwork is the primary focus.
The site includes galleries, David’s bio, a contact form, and a Wordpress blog. I designed and hand coded this site using XHTML and CSS. The slideshow uses MooTools.
