The Longmont Times-Call newspaper’s crime map is a popular feature with readers. I created both a print and an online version of the map. The biweekly printed graphic shows where and what types of crimes are reported within the city and provides space for the police department’s beat captains to communicate with residents.
The online component of the crime map offers readers more detailed information about reported crimes in their neighborhoods. I update the crime map webpage biweekly. Features include a Google map and a sortable table containing detailed information such as dates, addresses, and case numbers. I hand coded this piece using XHTML and CSS. The table uses Elite Zebra Tables (v 2.0).
